We had a pretty tough day today. I am not sure anyone was mentally prepared, as we were under the impression that today was going to be an "easy ride." Well, as easy as 66 miles can be that is. On paper, it did look relatively easy. We were going to be losing altitude all day, and were supposed to be able to buzz down some nice descents.
Once again, however, the wind had different plans for us. It fiercely howled in our faces throughout the day -- especially on the second leg. It definitely made things challenging.
That said, the views made it worth it. I realize that I write something like this nearly everyday, and I apologize if I am starting to bore you. But I mean it when I say it -- I have been fortunate to see some great things. It truly does make these headwinds a bit easier to bear. I hope that my photos from today prove how nice (and different) it is out here, and give you an idea of how lucky I am to be doing this challenge.

“One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.”

John: When the wind is in your face, or the next hill is just ahead, attack it with everything you can muster, and master the challenge. You'll look back at these efforts with pride for the remainder of your life. Travel safe. Love ya, D
