Day 20 -- Salida to Pueblo -- 97 Miles

Unbelievable day today -- everything was great from jump street. We started the day with a hearty breakfast at "Patio Pancake," and began our voyage to Pueblo.

The first leg of the trip was quick (actually, all of the legs were quick -- we were humming today), and beautiful. We pedaled along the Arkansas River, and we lost altitude as we approached the first SAG stop. At the SAG, I got a chance to see a whitewater rafting group (for the rest of my photos from the day, please click here) cruising along the river, as well as three mountain goats bopping around the area. It was pretty awesome. It really made me homesick -- I miss my pet mountain goat.

The next leg of our trip had some rolling terrain, and brought us through the Canon City -- a seemingly nice place. After pedaling through Canon City (Home to Holy Cross Winery by the way), we made it to the Leo Sydney Boston War Memorial Park, and had our second SAG stop.

Next, it was time for the homestretch. It was amazing how different the terrain in the 3rd leg was in comparison to the terrain of past couple of days (as well as today's first two legs for that matter). We went from green meadows and mountain views, to rolling hills and relatively barren scenery.

In the end, I made it to the hotel in Pueblo, and am excited to have a rest day tomorrow. I am looking forward to relaxing, getting some laundry done, and relaxing some more.
