Anyway, the ride was very pleasant today. I spent most of the day solo, and hammered out a quick 22 miles to the SAG stop. After a few minutes there, I got back in the saddle and made my way to the town of Cimarron-- home to Clark Pharmacy -- where I treated myself to an old school, chocolate milkshake. This place was great -- it was like stepping into a time machine (except for the fact that the place now has its own website). Even Oprah has been here, so clearly this place must be the real deal, right?
After Clark, I only had 16 miles left, and I cruised right into the lovely Dodge City. I managed to get a fair amount of photos from the day, but I'd advise you to check in on these photos later, as I plan to add more to the album after I buzz around down town. Wait... I mean.... "Ya'll be sure 'n' come back now, ya heahr?"
Update: Photos from Boot Hill Museum and The Long Branch Variety Show (Featuring Miss Kitty and her Can-Can Dancers) have been added to today's album.

Awesome pic, Hurls!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get Rob's post until I just revisited the picture, "shorty." Good stuff.

Johnny: Been thinking about you. Hanging out in Hull 90 and sunny. Looking forward to having you and Mary visit..
ReplyDeleteStay safe! Love you, ML
The update (Miss Kitty; Long Branch; and Boot Hill Museum) brings back sweet memories. Where did those twenty-years go?
ReplyDeleteYesterday, I was in Indy. I was walking around to stretch my legs (the city has been upgraded big time--the RCA Dome--which was my landmark--is gone). I turned a corner and, BINGO, Union Station. All of a sudden, it was twenty years earlier. I'm glad you get a rest day there. Enjoy. St. Elmo's shrimp cocktails have to be part of your experience!
Travel safe. Love ya, D
Awesome pic John!
